What is the voice over demo process like and how long does it take?
This will vary from place to place. Some demos were cut and produced in a few hours, and sound like it. Some demos, made by very slick producers can have a great sound, and will take more time to get that sound. With digital editing so widely affordable these days, the time in post has been shaved quite a bit. We usually take about four hours on average to go through final copy selection and recording. Then depending on how busy it is, around a week to get the final master out. On the talent side of things you basically have to be prepared to spend an hour or two on each day (we usually do two sessions) on your feet reading with a lot of focus and intensity. It can get quite exhausting by the end if you’re really fired up going into it. You just need to be prepared and realize that you need your happy face on..
