What is the vision for future ship design/construction in accommodating more women at sea?

Quality of Life and Quality of Work, or Quality of Service, remain a priority focus area. The goal for future design is going toward commercial standards, which provide for smaller berthing areas or fewer Sailors per berthing area, such as six-person or even two-person staterooms. Therefore, berthing becomes genderless by virtue of the design. Obviously, this design will facilitate the distribution/assignment process by giving detailers more flexibility to assign the right person at the right time to the right job. I understand Mr. Thomas Gooding from NAVSEA will address that very question.
