What is the Virginia Dare Flotilla for Toys Boat Parade of Lights??
Each year the Virginia Dare leads numerous boats decorated with everything from thousands of lights to Santa himself from the Virginia Dare Marina. The parade cruises to Hales Ford Bridge, the Smith Mountain Lake State Park and then ends back at the Marina. Each person riding on the Virginia Dare or on any boat that participates is asked to bring at least 1 new unwrapped toy. Also we ask that any person that views the parade from Halesford Bridge, the State Park, or anywhere along the parade route bring at least 1 new unwrapped toy. Along the route of the parade many people hold their annual Christmas parties and ask that instead of a hostess gift to please bring a new unwrapped toy to donate. We are very honored when many people tell us it doesn’t feel like the Christmas until the Flotilla cruises by to ring in the Christmas season. Who does the Virginia Dare Flotilla for Toys Boat Parade of Lights Help to Support?? The Flotilla for Toys helps to support the Lake Christian Ministries
