WHAT IS THE VIDEOEYE?

0

The VideoEye is a low vision appliance which helps people with macular degeneration by greatly magnifying reading material and objects. Technically, it is known as a ‘CCTV’, which stands for closed-circuit-television. It has a viewing head mounted on an extendable arm that reaches almost 4 feet from where it is mounted. When you place reading material or objects under it, it magnifies them and they appear on the monitor. Our various models provide magnification starting at 25X power, increasing to 100X, depending on the size of monitor upon which the image is being displayed. For example, if you put the newspaper under it, the small print is enlarged 2 1/2 inches high at 25X power It was designed primarily to help people with reading, but the extendable arm, self-focusing feature, and color display also allow it to be used to look at pictures, objects, hand-work, for writing and medical self-examination.
