ProZ.com staff member, moderators and other volunteers have undertaken a program to confirm the identity of interested site users. A checkmark appearing in a user’s profile signifies that the identity of the person may have been verified. Clicking on the checkmark will provide more information. Access to this information may prove useful in assessing risk when forming new online relationships. The purpose of confirming members’ IDs is to increase mutual trust across the site, in particular among users who don’t know each other personally.
