What is the veneering process?
The procedure usually requires three to four visits. Diagnosis and treatment planning. To prepare a tooth for a veneer we may remove some enamel from the front, biting edge, and sides. About 1/2 millimeter of enamel is a common amount to trim. Local anesthetic may be used to numb the area. A mold is taken to precisely record the newly shaped teeth and temporary acrylic veneers are placed. The length of time of the appointment will depend on the condition of your teeth and on how many veneers you are having done. This visit may last for 30 minutes to several hours. You will be advised about how much time we expect to need. Two to three weeks usually pass before we are ready to attach the permanent veneers. Placement.
