What is the Vatican afraid of in discussing progress of reconciliation talks with the LeFebvre movement?
What’s wrong with this picture? The Holy See is mum about progress in the on-going talks with the Society of Saint Pius X, but open to discuss relations with the Presbyterian Church, hoping to end the scandal and, as the Pope put it, “confirm the common work for Christian unity.” While all this ecumenism is encouraging, it cannot happen until Rome reconciles within first. That means acknowledging the Mass of All Ages is the rightful liturgy and admitting Archbishop LeFebvre was ‘politicked’ out. But will it happen? Not until the Vatican itself stops being intimidated by its own modernist bishops? Sad as that is, it could very well be the case from all the documentation produced.
