What is the value of wilderness to modern society?
Wilderness is life to us. If there was no wilderness we would not be here. We need food to eat. Plants grow it for us. We need air to breathe. Trees provide it for us. We eat cows and pigs and they eat grass and grains that come from plants. All these things come from wilderness. What would happen if wilderness started disappearing? Some things would start to die. Mine and many other animals depend on wilderness. If there was no wilderness my animal would be dead. My animal eats small fish and small fish eat things like sea weed and other water plants. My animal the humpback whale depends on the ocean. The different plants and things that grow from the ground feed my animal’s prey. That’s how they stay alive and if they did not have that food they would die. Then my animal would die along with many others.
