What is the value of external data synchronization?
Data synchronization is a process that assures that appropriate product data is communicated to the retailer by the vendor. For example, imagine adding new products to the merchandise system at a retailer; all of the physical descriptive information, UCD codes, and prices have to be added to assure that the inventory “catalogs” match. Now contrast doing that by hand vs. automatically and you can quickly envision reduced PO errors, faster invoice reconciliation, faster time to market for new products, and reduced stock outs.
