The Valemount and Area Recreation Development Association is a non-profit association, consisting of a range of local business and backcountry users. Their key goals are focused on community and public education to help backcountry use and improve the backcountry experience for all user groups. ILMB and the implementing agencies consider VARDA as an integrated stakeholder body that can cooperatively review and comment on plan implementation. VARDA has a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Tourism, Recreation Sites & Trails Branch to manage the snowmobile trails in the plan area.
