What is the use of the on/off automatic switch (“Auto On/Off”) of the active subwoofer?

The On/Off switch is a power-saving standby switch. The switch must be set to “On” or “1” to activate the standby. The subwoofer is activated as soon as it receives a strong bass signal. After approx. ten to twenty minutes of no signal, or only after receiving a very weak signal, it automatically switches to the standby function. Even though the LED is still illuminated, the subwoofer is in standby mode. This function can be easily checked by slowly increasing the volume at the receiver/amplifier. You will hear a quiet popping noise when the subwoofer activates itself as of a certain level.
