What is the use of the HKSAR Re-entry Permit? Who are eligible for the Permit?
The HKSAR Re-entry Permit is issued to the following categories of Hong Kong residents for travel to mainland China and the Macau Special Administrative Region:a.Chinese citizens who either have acquired the right of abode in Hong Kong or are allowed to stay in Hong Kong without subject to any condition of stay; and b.People not of Chinese nationality who are allowed to stay in Hong Kong without subject to any condition of stay and are unable to obtain a national passport or a travel document of any other country or territory. The following categories of people may also have to use the HKSAR Re-entry Permit:a.Children who are under the age of 11 and have not registered for an identity card; andb.Hong Kong residents who have lost their identity card but have to travel to mainland China or Macau before they are re-issued with their identity card.
