What is the URI Charter?
The URI Charter is an official document that contains essential information about the URI . In some organizations this document is called the Constitution. The URI Charter is a civil contract among participants in the URI . It spells out their rights and responsibilities, establishes the initial decision-making bodies and provides a framework for self-organizing growth and evolution of the organization to occur. In June 2000, the URI Charter was signed by Interim Global Council trustees, URI founding members and thousands of URI supporters all over the world. The URI Charter is the culmination of a four year Charter development process and represents shared vision and values of hundreds of URI participants from every continent and from diverse religious and spiritual traditions.
