What is the upgrade path for McAfees products from Windows XP/Vista to Windows 7?
When McAfee customers upgrade to Windows 7 there are several scenarios that they can encounter. • When their McAfee product is up to date upgrading to Windows 7 will happen without any problems to their McAfee product. Customers will continue to be protected. • When a McAfee product hasn’t been upgraded to the latest version and an upgrade to Windows 7 is initiated the Microsoft product will block the upgrade process. The customer will be prompted to visit the McAfee website in order to download and install the Windows 7 compatible version of their McAfee product. After the customer has successfully installed the latest McAfee version they can continue upgrading their operating system. • When a McAfee product is newly installed on a computer with Windows 7 then McAfee’s security product will automatically download the latest version from the internet during the installation process.
