The UWS IUE is a UW System initiative to increase the opportunities for teaching candidates who are interested in becoming effective teachers for urban schools and culturally diverse populations. The Institute is a community-based program combining student teaching, academics and community involvement to prepare teachers who seek an intensive urban teaching experience.
