A. Grant proposals to Research Councils have to be calculated on a fEC basis from September 2005,with the first Research Council awards under the fEC system being made from April 2006. Between February – September 2005, the University will submit all research grant proposals using the current methodology. In addition, each proposal will be costed on a fEC basis for internal purposes, allowing the University to model the current research portfolio and decide future strategies. Extra information necessary to calculate the fEC will be requested when the proposal application is submitted.
