What is the Universal Path and when should I use it?
The Universal Path is actually the Uniform Resource Locator (URL). The URL is the path and filename of the document where the path includes the Server Name and share name. For instance, \\KingDesigns-001\Data\CatalogDoc.doc, where KingDesigns-001 is the server and Data is the share name. The Universal Path allows the Doc Manager to open documents on remote computers without restriction of drive mappings.
