What is the unit cost of electricity in Ireland?
A lot of properties include the electricity cost but this has been open to abuse so many owners have reverted to reading electricity meters and charging for usage. If the electricity is meter read it is important that you read the electricity reading on your arrival and again on your departure and work out the usage yourself or in the presence of the caretaker/owner. The unit cost of electricity is now 18 cent per unit. Electricity is more expensive in Ireland so please take care when using items that use a lot of electricity like tumble Dryers, emersion Heaters, electric heaters and boosters on storage heaters.
