The 10BASE-T Testing Service is a world class test house for 10BASE-T products. The testing service brings together members and industry to foster interoperability among 10BASE-T products and increase the market feasibility of 10BASE-T technology. The once UNH-IOL 10BASE-T Consortium has matured, like all consortiums will, into a testing service. A consortium matures when there is no longer development with in the technology and a need for interoperablilty testing. The 10BASE-T Consortium was founded in 1990 and was replaced by the UNH-IOL 10BASE-T Testing Service in 1993. The UNH-IOL 10BASE-T Testing Service is a one-time product test in which a company is not required to leave a product at the lab after the testing has been completed.
