What is the underlying purpose of ARWA?
A. The overall aim of ARWA is to maximise the net benefit to Western Australia by increasing science capacity in agriculture, food, fibre and resource management. The State’s agriculture, food and fibre sector is a major economic engine for Western Australia and generates $8 billion annually – half of which is generated as exports; and half of which flows back to the regions. A world class research capacity is essential for this sector to readily access the best technologies and skills to keep pace with a rapidly evolving world trade environment.
