What is the “unassigned” amount shown on my progress chart?

A. The “unallocated” or “unassigned” amount is the portion of the electric bill not yet assigned to one of the survey’s appliance categories — such as cooling and heating, water heating, etc. At the beginning of your survey, the whole electric bill is unassigned. The unassigned amount decreases as you complete the survey. FPL’s Online Home Energy Survey estimates how much electricity your appliances use. In some cases, a portion of the electric bill will remain unallocated. You can help to reduce the unallocated amount by making your survey answers — including the size of your home and your thermostat settings for cooling and heating — as accurate as possible.
