Our policy regarding flights is that the US should be allowed to use UK airports for transit as long as they conform to the correct procedures and international law. This point has been made to the US authorities, including by the Prime Minister to US President Bush. Military goods in direct transit through UK airports / airspace fall outside UK export control legislation unless the goods concerned are intended for an embargoed destination or include a very restricted number of prohibited items (e.g. anti-personnel landmines or torture equipment). Neither applies in the case of Israel or Lebanon.
