What is the U.S. Army War College Distance Education Course (USAWCDEC)?
The Army War College Distance Education Course is one of two distance education Top Level Schools open to Marine Officers. The program, 2 years in length, consists of preparatory reading, 11 correspondence sub-courses, and two mandatory 2-week resident phases at the Army War College in Carlisle, PA. The course begins in July, with the first resident session held the following June, and the final resident session held one year later at the end of the course.
