What is the U.K. equivalent of the eye drop Visine?
Hi there, The UK equivalent is Optrex Red Eyes. Although, you could ask the chemist for any eye drop that is a vasoconstrictor. I must add a detractor however, if you are using these drops because you have ‘red eyes’ – possibly due to neovascularization from contact lenses or an infection, then you are simply masking the problem. You could have a more serious condition (infection); simply reducing blood flow to the area will not solve the condition and may even exacerbate symptoms. These drops are certainly not advised for contact lens wearers as decreased blood flow to the surface of the eye will further lower the levels of oxygen available to the eye and hence cause more redness or neovascularization.
