What is the typical way that the tasks are set up on a project ?

Generally, users will set most tasks to the Start As Soon As Possible option to let the system develop the draft schedule based on the predecessors and the duration of the tasks. This allows you to quickly draft a timeline for the project schedule. Once you are satisfied with the timeline, you can select the Finalize Schedule action to copy the plan start and plan complete date to the Original Dates columns. This allows you to take a snapshot of your original schedule as you start the project. Next, users will look at the schedule and identify key milestones that must be met (ie. Approval by Client or Press Check Date). They will change the schedule constraint on those tasks to Must Finish on the Planned Completion Date. This way, if the task schedules begins to slide, these tasks will not deviate from the original planned dates and will turn red if the schedule constraint on that task cannot be met. This would become your first indicator that there’s a problem with the schedule if use
