What is the TSN Top 50 CFL Players program?
The CFL has a long and storied history in Canada. From Jackie Parker to Doug Flutie to all-time pro passing leader Damon Allen, many great players have been a part of creating that legacy. The TSN Top 50 CFL Players program was created to honour them. In partnership with the CFL, TSN has assembled an independent, expert panel, which consists of media, former players, coaches, broadcasters and football executives representing every CFL city. Among the 185 candidates are 119 players named to the CFL Hall of Fame on the basis of performance since 1945, and 66 others identified during a three-month research and consultation process. All voters have been instructed to judge and compare players based on the totality of their on-field contributions – be it at different positions or in different team roles.
