What is the truth about at home hair dying?
If you don’t want to change your color completely then you probably don’t want to color the whole head. For a strawberry blonde, I would give you some blonde highlights in front and then some deeper red lowlights in the back, really different, really nice. If you let your friend do it then by all means buy the best the store has, home coloring is not the same as professional coloring. Don’t let her just mix it up an plop it on top of your head, that’s not the way to do it. If you don’t want brassy or straw like hair, then you’ve got to keep the color done. If you do it once and don’t refresh the color it will dry out your hair. Also condition the heck out of it.
Dying your hair at home is fine. i’ve been doing my own and others hair for about three years. Just make sure that all of your hair is wet with the dye, and don’t wash your hair for two days before you dye it, because the dye will stick better. if you like the way that your friends hair has turned out and the way the other peoples hair she has dyed has turned out, then I don’t see why you shouldn’t trust her. But if you are too scared or worried, going to a salon can take off a lot of stress and worrying about the outcome.
