What is the treatment like with the different lasers at the Clinical Capillary Institute?
Initially the Specialist will carry out a test prior to performing the full treatment. The treatment can be carried out that same day or on successive days, depending on the reaction of the skin. Both the patient and the Specialist who performs the treatment must use special safety glasses to protect the eyes from the laser light. The laser is applied via a handset which is placed upon the area to be treated. It first sends out a cooling spray and immediately thereafter the laser pulse, repeating this gentle impact upon the whole of the area to be treated. The spot size, the area covered by each of the laser shots, will be decided upon by the specialist depending on the overall size of the area. These treatments do not require sick leave from work. After the application of the laser, the Specialist will apply a moisturising cream upon the treated area. It is normal and even desirable for a slight reddening and swelling to take place on the skin surrounding each removed hair.
