What is the treatment for obsessive compulsive disorder?
Besides all the therapys and counselling there is something called electrode therapy (or something I can’t remember the exact name, I’m pretty sure it isn’t electic shock therapy!), but it’s something along those lines. Something to do with impulses in the brain (I think) My sister suffers from OCD badly, and at 17 years old she was put on the waiting list for this treatment on the NHS. She is 19 now and still waiting. People really need the support from their families though that is very important, and although it can be VERY hard work for families, and you need lots of patience (one thing my sister does is to check she’s left nothing behind when she leaves a table or bus or something, and can go back 3 or 4 times to check), really try to help people. It’s a really bad problem to have and lots of people struggle with it and lots of other people just don’t understand.
