What is the Trash to Treasure Stadium Sale?
This exciting event is a partnership between Penn State University and the Centre County United Way. The sale starts with donations of wonderful, usable items from the Penn State residence hall student population at University Park, which numbers 14,000 students. Measurable outcomes from the 2006 sale included: • 66 tons of usable items saved from the landfill • Donation of 6 tons of food to local food banks • $50,000 for distribution to agencies funded by Centre County United Way What’s for Sale? • Thousands of area rugs • Hundreds of pieces of furniture • Hundreds of electronics (computers, TV’s and more) • Thousands of household items • Top brand label clothing, shoes, and accessories • Bedding • Toys • Sporting Goods • Hundreds of BRAND NEW items, with tags on!
