What is the total range of mosberg shotgun?
That depends. If you have a rifled barrel, a scope, are shooting sabot rounds and know how to shoot, you may be able to pull off a 200m shot. If it’s a smoothbore with iron sights, you’re probably out of luck. Most people consider the maximum effective range of a smoothbore shotgun to be about 100m, and that’s only with slugs – put buckshot in it and you’re going to be doing good to hit effectively at 25m. With birdshot, you probably can’t get a really good hit beyond 4 or 5 meters, (if it’s possible to get an effective hit with birdshot at all) – though you can pepper, and irritate, someone well beyond that, you probably won’t kill them. Edit: To respond to the comment below, that’s totally rediculous – out of a standard 18″ barrel (tactical application), buckshot tends to spread about 1 inch for each yard travelled. That means that, generally speaking, at 25 yards, you’ve got a spread of about 25″ – larger than an average man’s torso (The average man stands about 19.5″ across the sho
