What is the total cost associated with improving the existing Residential Private Streets to meet the town’s public streets standards?
The cost is unknown at this time. Clearly each potentially participating subdivision’s streets are not equally constructed nor have they been equally maintained since they were placed into service. By including all 14 subdivisions or approximately 1,400 property owners the cost will be spread out not only among all the property owners but also over a number of years. During the first six months following establishment of the MSD the town will prepare a comprehensive plan for converting the participating subdivisions’ streets to public streets. Revenues and costs associated with the process will be tracked to the comprehensive plan and annual reports prepared and included in the annual operating budget.
