What is the total amount of federal assistance provided in the Hurricane Ike disaster?
Direct federal assistance to Texans and Texas communities in the Ike disaster now totals more than $2.5 billion. That’s more than $7 million per day, every day, since the storm’s landfall. We expect the total to increase in the coming months as we continue to work with our partners on requests for additional grants and other assistance.
