What is the timetable for implementation of the strategy?
The strategy is being implemented over the next several years. The declaration accompanying the agreement on the air quality directive outlines the latest progress on the development and the adoption of further community measures. Further analytical work on ship emissions will be undertaken with a view to submitting proposals to the IMO in 2006. The strategy will be reviewed at periodic intervals, with the first review due to take place in five years. The results will feed into the review of the 6EAP.
