What is the Timeline for Invent Iowa State Competition?
• Early November, 2010: Online Registration opens for Invent Iowa 2011. • February 1, 2011: The deadline for all application materials to be mailed or delivered to Invent Iowa, 600 Blank Honors Center, Iowa City, IA 52242. Materials for the February 1 deadline include: application, log, and fee. Send only these materials. Do not send a video of the student inventors presenting the invention. Students will be contacted to submit a video if the invention is being considered for a final award. A video will be requested only if the invention is selected for the final award round of judging (approximately the top 10% of each grade level). • Mid-February: Selected inventors (approximately the top 10% of each grade level) being considered for final awards are sent a letter requesting a 2-3 minute video –the video is due March 4.
