What is the timeline for City hearings on the Children”s proposal?
Proposals submitted to the City of Chicago are subject to review by the Alderman, who works with various City departments, including the Department of Planning and Development, the Chicago Department of Transportation, the Office of Emergency Management and Communications, etc. Because Children’s is seeking zoning permission to construct a heliport, the Department of Aviation is also involved. Hearing dates are established by the City of Chicago, not the developer (in this case Children’s), and are dependent upon the successful completion of the question and review process executed by the various City departments. The Children’s proposal will not be included on the November 15, 2007, Plan Commission’s agenda. The next possible date for a public hearing is December 13, 2007.
