What is the time-limit for making a claim?

0

• Your disability discrimination claim must reach the Tribunal offices no later than 6 months starting from the date when the alleged disability discrimination took place. This is a very strict deadline set out in Tribunal regulations, so if we do not receive the claim within this time-limit then we may not be able to register it. • Example : if the alleged disability discrimination took place on 31 January we must receive your appeal form by 31 July at the latest. • If you decide to use the free conciliation service offered by the Equalities and Human Rights Commission you have a further 2 months in which to make your claim. This means that we must receive your claim no later than 8 months starting from the date when the alleged disability discrimination took place. • Example : if the alleged disability discrimination took place on 31 January we must receive your appeal form by 31 September at the latest.
