What is the time difference from EST to GMT?

Right now FL is on daylight saving time so it’s 4 hours behind GMT. In winter it’s 5 hours behind GMT. (Don’t confuse GMT with the current time in the UK: they are also on daylight saving time now, so current UK time is GMT + 1 hour). But there is a confusion with the time you gave. GMT time NEVER includes am or pm; it is always written in 24h format, precisely to avoid the confusion with 12am/pm (midnight or midday?). Depending on the writer’s whim, 12am on the 20th could be 00:00 GMT on the 20th, 12:00 GMT on the 20th or even conceivably 00:00 GMT on the 21st. So since the time is written in a non-standard format, the FL time in question could be 8pm on the 19th, 8am on the 20th or possibly even 8pm on the 20th. Or if the writer meant UK time and not GMT time, substitute 7 for 8 in the above three hours. Good luck!!
