What is the time commitment for Clinics and Externships?

0

Clinics and Externships are a substantial time commitment, but the effort is worth it. Generally, a student is required to work a minimum of 50 hours for each credit earned. So, for 3 credits a student must document at least 150 hours over the course of the semester (100 hours for 2 credits and 50 hours for 1 credit). The tax Externships have different minimum requirements. On average, that works out to about 10.5 hours per week. Although, given the nature of the work, students may put in more time in some weeks and less time in others. Of course, this includes not only the time spent working in the placement or on the client’s cases, it also includes class time and time for class preparation.
