What is the time commitment for being a volunteer firefighter?
We understand folks are busy. There is typically one training night each month and one business meeting per month. Of course, we are a 24×7 organization and calls come at all times of the day and night but our call volume is thankfully low with about 60 calls per year. If a member decides to assist with interior attacks then they must attend Firefighter 1 at the Morris County Fire Academy. This course, lasting about two and a half months meeting three times each week, is completely free to members.
