A. Fabindias objective is to create an interest and a market for cottage industries. Our business in textiles and home products is designed to not only provide quality hand-made products for our customers, but also to support and encourage the continuation of these Indian traditions by paying a fair price for them. We believe that only Fair trade will sustain these traditions in the long term. Many of the techniques and concepts that are at the foundation of Organic agriculture were learnt from Indian systems. Supporting Organic agriculture is therefore a natural step for us at Fabindia to take. Just as we support traditional practices in textiles and other cottage industries, so too are we now supporting our agricultural traditions. Our policy of fair trade makes traditional organic farming a viable modern economic option. We believe in giving farmers a fair price for their produce, and in supplying the very highest quality food to our customers.
