What is the theory of Condescension and why do Christian apologists love it so much?
Erstwhile Christians also invented nuclear bombs, Islam, the Holocaust, and Communism. Yet these inventions are not considered Christian inventions. The scientific method was created during the Rennaisance, a time of rejection of Christian dogma, both by Humanists and Protestants. The skepticism which was rife at this time led to a whole new way of thinking. The men who invented the scientific method happenned to be Christians, but they were first and foremost men. They looked outside of the Bible for answers to the Universe’s mysteries, and thank God they did… And of course modern inventions will come AFTER the rejection of ancient superstitions such as the myth of creation – that is the nature of PROGRESS, my friend. On another note, you seem to accept God’s paternalism, even though you must acknowledge that he could have revealed so much more useful information to man earlier on that could have saved lives and eased suffering. This to me seems to be blind faith in the Almighty.
