What is the theme of “Warning”?
The theme of “Warning” is probably power. Knowing you have power over yourself, and knowing what you have control over. That is not a common theme. What does the motto in “Motto”, “Dig and be dug in return” mean? In the context of the poem, to dig means to be cautious and shrewd. In other words, the character in this poem likes to play it cool. If he is keen of all people he encounters in his life, he avoids any problems that may happen. I think it means that if you help someone then they will help you. Like if a person helps you, and then later on you need something they’ll help you because you helped them out. Dig and be dug in return means that you can fool other people, but expect to be fooled yourself by someone else. You can take, but eventually someone else will take from you. I think that this poem is showing a feel of defiance, kind of if you mess me up I’ll do the same to you. You shouldn’t let the fear of someone hurting you not let you accomplish what you want in life. What
