The 2nd scene is near the battlefield in Scotland. Here we hear about how bravely Macbeth fought and that Duncan is going to name Macbeth the new Thane of Cawdor. The 3rd scene is on the heath where the witches deliver their prophecies to Macbeth. The location for scene 4 is not specific, but it appears to be at Duncan’s castle. Scene 5 is at Macbeth’s castle where Lady Macbeth gets her husband’s letter telling her of the witches’ prophecies. Scenes 6 and 7 are also at Macbeth’s castle, Dunsinane. This act sets the scene for what follows – the murder of Duncan.
