The textbook is Astronomy Notes by Nick Strobel. It is available at the campus bookstore and from MBS Direct. It is also available online. The paper version comes packaged with a CD of the textbook web site and costs about $60 plus tax. The book is now available directly from the publisher (McGraw Hill). Make sure you have the current semester’s edition! The students in my regular day sections are also using this text. Get a copy of the Student Guide (about $21.60) at the OfficeMax on the corner of Mt. Vernon & Hwy 178 (just south of Hwy 178 near Home Depot) in Bakersfield. Go to the copy center at the back of the store and get the Student Guide for the day and internet sections. Make sure you have the current semester’s edition! The Student Guide will not be ready until the week before the semester begins. Students outside of the Bakersfield metropolitan or surrounding area can arrange with the instructor to have him mail them a copy of the Student Guide for the price of the book and
