What is the Texas Prison Dawah Project?
The Texas Prison Dawah Project (TPDP) was founded by Br. Luqman Mudhakkir in 2000 for the purpose of distributing Qurans, Islamic videos, books and pamphlets to the incarcerated Muslims of Texas. TPDP is funded by the East Texas Islaimic Society (ETIS) and also works in cooperation with K&D Recovery Foundation Inc., in the promotion of Millati Islami, a 12 step recovery program founded by Zaid and Sybil Imani in Baltimor Maryland, 1993. TPDP sends out packages, which include Millati Islami literature, every month to volunteers, Unit Chaplains and Regional Muslim Chaplains. The work of dawah, meaning propagation, invitation and/or conveying is directed toward Muslims and Non-Muslims. The Regional Muslim Chaplains and knowledgeable Muslims on the inside, need materials and support from us to enhance their efforts in teaching the deen (religion), engaging in dawah and insha-Allah, assisting in the successful reintegration of incarcerated Muslims into freeworld society as productive member
