The Texas Guaranty Association was created by the Texas Legislature in 1973 as a nonprofit legal entity to provide coverage for policy benefits of Texas resident policyholders, subject to certain limits, when there is a financial failure of an insurance company licensed to sell life, health and annuity policies in Texas.
