What is the Template Security Threshold?

0

The Security Threshold is the threshold at which the verification occurs. This threshold dictates the false acceptance rate (FAR) and false rejection rate (FRR) at which the live finger and stored template will be compared against. The default setting is Medium. Note that there is also a Security Threshold field that is global to the units and accessible through the Unit Parameters. The unit will perform the verification at the lower of the two thresholds (template vs. global). On a Searching (1:500) unit, such as the V-Pass or V-Station-Searching, the threshold is hardcoded to a FRR of 1.0% and a FAR of 0.2%. For more information on the FAR and FRR values for each security level please refer to the VeriSeries Operations Manual v9.3 (Blue LED) > Appendix A: Quality and Content.
