What is the temperature range for extended application?
The EPC enhancement mode transistors are rated at 125C and will be upgraded to 150C with the release of lead free devices. GaN transistors in general are capable of operating at temperatures as high as 300C. EPC’s devices are mounted as flipchips onto PCB’s using standard Pb-Sn solder. This, plus the maximum temperature allowed at the surface of a commercial PCB is typically no higher than 105C, are the two reasons EPC has not initially rated these parts at higher temperatures.
