What is the Telephone Preference Service?

0

Telephone Preference Service (TPS) is a service administered by the Direct Marketing Association (DMA). It helps you make sure your telephone number is no longer available to organisations, including charity and voluntary organisations who may telephone you with offers and information you do not wish to receive. (Before you act remember that registering may prevent you receiving calls you would really like to get.) After registering for the Telephone Preference Service, it takes about a month for the service to start working. You will receive a confirmation letter from TPS a few days after registration.

Individuals have the right to refuse unsolicited marketing messages through fax, phone, email and text messages. Individuals and organisations can register with the Telephone Preference Service if they do not want to receive unsolicited marketing calls.
